Threaded Geometry: A Dialogue Between Color and Structure

In the quiet precision of counted stitch, geometry becomes poetry. Each motif is a conversation between symmetry and spontaneity—an invitation to explore how structure can be softened by color, and how repetition can lead to infinite variation.

This pattern set features six designs, 17×17 count motifs. When stitched on 18-count Aida, a single motif measures approximately 2.5 cm, making them ideal for small-scale compositions or modular arrangements. Though stitched in a single color, the possibilities are anything but limited. Choose your favorite thread and pair it with a contrasting or complementary fabric—white linen with crimson floss, navy Aida with pale lavender, or any combination that speaks to your aesthetic.

These patterns are designed to be versatile. You can scale them by adjusting fabric count, or combine multiple motifs to create larger, more intricate pieces. Whether used for ornaments, framed art, or textile embellishments, each design offers a refined canvas for your creativity.

As you stitch, pay close attention to technique: ensure that the top thread of each cross slants in the same direction when viewed from the front. This small detail brings cohesion and elegance to the final piece. Let your needle move with intention, and allow each stitch to reflect your personal rhythm.

Get the chart, select your palette, and begin your own dialogue in thread—where geometry meets emotion, and tradition meets your unique voice.

   Counted Stitch Pattern   06

This continuous pattern is reminiscent of flowers. It can be stitched with white thread on blue Aida to create a delicate image, or with light gray thread on black fabric for a lovely finish.
We recommend using one motif to make a covered button and arranging it into a brooch or hair accessory.
Of course, it would also look great as an ornament for a cushion cover or kitchen cloth.

This floral motif evokes a sense of nostalgia. You can string a bunch of them together to make a cushion cover, or use it as an accent on the pocket of a tote bag.

To vary the design, you can also stitch straight lines around the motif and frame it to create a different look.

Counted Stitch Pattern    08

It's a simple design that combines a cross and flowers, and is neither too stiff nor too sweet.

If you stitch the motif continuously, it will look a bit dense, so if you don't want it to look heavy, it's a good idea to stitch it with a light-colored thread.

 Counted Stitch pattern   13

This is a delicate design reminiscent of flowers and hearts. When connected and viewed from a distance, it creates a mysterious pattern that looks like a combination of squares.

You'll be doing a lot of diagonal stitching, so if you're just starting out, remember to focus on keeping all your stitches facing the same way for a neat finish.

  Counted Stitch pattern    20

This delicate design is reminiscent of snowflakes. Even when stitched with dark thread, it doesn't feel oppressive, and even when stitched over a wide area, the motif doesn't stand out too much, resulting in an elegant finish.

Since many of the stitches proceed diagonally, beginners should be especially careful to keep your stitches even as you work.

This is also a delicate design inspired by crosses and flowers. The cross that appears when the four motifs are connected is also an accent.

As many stitches are worked diagonally, ensure your crosses are uniform and keep the tension even, especially if you're a beginner.
